CODES FOR SECTION AND EQUATION NUMBERS
In order to refer to sections and equations on other pages it is neccessary to number them in a way that is consistent with the structure of the text. Consequently each section and page has been given a unique letter code and the equations on that page are labelled with that code followed by a number that starts at one and proceeds consecutively within that page. The letter codes are semi-structured to allow moderately easy identification of the section and page where the specific equation is located. The letter codes are included in parentheses after the page title in all of the tables of contents of pages. The letter codes roughly conform to the following:
- Major sections have been assigned a letter code consisting of one (or more) upper case letter(s).
- Pages within a major section have been assigned a letter code consisting of one (or more) lower case letters that follow the upper case letter(s) of the major section within which that page is located. These page letter codes follow no particular order.
- Equations on a page are labelled with the page letter code followed by a number that starts at one and proceeds consecutively within that page.
